  • Do I need a referral for an appointment?
    ​Kao. You do not need a referral to book an appointment with us. To book an appointment simply click the 'Book Now' button in the top right corner of this page, or give us a call: 09 437 0238
  • What services do you offer?
    We offer a variety of health and wellness services from qualified and registered professionals, including: Osteopathy Counselling TCM Acupuncture Shockwave Therapy Mirimiri Oncology Physiotherapy For more information on these services please check out our Ratonga/Services page.
  • What are your fees?
    Tinana services: Osteopathy/TCM Acupuncture cost: Private: $85.00 ACC: $60.00 Shockwave Therapy: Private Consult: $150 Private Follow-Up: from $80.00 ACC Consult: $100.00 ACC Follow-Up: from $60.00 Mirimiri: TBC Hinengaro services: Youth Counselling (≤16Yrs): $80.00 Individual Counselling (16Yrs+): $95.00 Whānau counselling: from $110.00
  • Are you ACC registered?
    Āe. ​Yes, we are an accredited ACC provider. We can even do all the paperwork for an ACC claim in the clinic during your appointment for extra convenience. Please note: Our Counselling services are not currently covered by ACC. However, if you have a case manager and would like to access these via ACC, please discuss.
  • Do I need an ACC number before I come?
    ​Kao. You do not need an ACC number prior to your appointment. Our tinana (body focused) practitioners can apply for an ACC claim in your appointment. Are there any funded avenues I can access? Haerenga Hauora is a privately owned clinic, which unfortunately means that we do not get Government funding for our services. HOWEVER, we do work closely with some agencies who help with financial support: + WINZ support is available for all Tinana and Hinengaro services. + In some cases ACC may cover your surcharges, as well as travel. + Counselling can be funded via Gumboot Friday, Mahitahi Hauora, Clearhead.
  • Are your clinics wheelchair accessible?
    Yes, both of our clinics are fully wheelchair and walker support accessible. We have ramps and wide doors that can accommodate most wheelchair users. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all our clients.
  • How long are appointments?
    Appointment times vary depending on the modality, but unlike GPs, we do run on time. Tinana Services: - Osteopathy/TCM Acupuncture: 45 mins - Shockwave Therapy: Consults: 45 mins / Follow ups: 15 min Hinengaro Services: - Individual/Youth: 50 mins - Family: 60 mins
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    Appointment times vary depending on the modality, but unlike GPs, we do run on time. Tinana Services: - Osteopathy/TCM Acupuncture: 45 mins - Shockwave Therapy: Consults: 45 mins / Follow ups: 15 min Hinengaro Services: - Individual/Youth: 50 mins - Family: 60 mins What should I wear? For our tinana services please make sure that you wear comfortable and loose clothes that allow the area of injury to be accessible. For females we recommend wearing a sports bra underneath your shirt, especially for acupuncture.

At Haerenga Hauora, we believe you are the expert in your own life. Our role as a counsellor is to facilitate kōrero in a way that helps you delve deeper into what is going on, with the intention to help pull apart and gain clarity on surrounding issues. Together, we’ll untangle the complexities, gain clarity, and empower you to take back control, re-inviting joy and purpose into your journey.
  • How can it help?
    Our counsellors are trained, registered professionals equipped with a toolbox of empathetic and evidence-based techniques. Whether you’re grappling with difficult emotions, behaviours, thoughts, or situations, we’re here to provide the awhi (support) you need. Sometimes, it’s easier to talk to someone outside your usual circle—someone who can offer a fresh perspective and keep everything confidential. That's where we come in, creating a space that’s both comforting and constructive.
  • Is it for me?
    Counselling at Haerenga Hauora can be particularly beneficial if you’re experiencing: - Low moods and motivation - Anxiety or isolating behaviours - Anger or frustration - Neurodivergent struggles - Stress or overwhelm - Relationship difficulties - Difficulty coping with life changes
  • What can I expect?
    Counselling at Haerenga Hauora is a partnership. you’re in the driver’s seat, and our sessions are tailored to your unique needs and goals. you set the pace, and you decide how to use your time—whether that means diving deep into a particular issue or shifting gears to something new. For couples and family therapy, we foster a space free of judgement or blame, focusing instead on curious exploration and future-focused solutions. We aim to address any hara (conflict) in a way that’s affirming for all involved.
  • What modalities do you use?
    Think of counselling like a pick-and-mix lolly bag—not every technique will resonate with everyone, and that’s okay! Our counsellors are trained in a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy (PCT), strengths-based approaches, narrative therapy, and art therapy. If you're seeking a specific modality, let’s chat beforehand to ensure we can meet your needs.
  • How often do I come?
    Consistency and continuity of care are key! That’s why we have recurring counselling spots on a fortnightly or weekly basis for all clients (unless you’re coming for supervision).
